Once you have a domain name and your web site is set up in our control panel, you need to know how to use your web site.
If
you are using FrontPage, all you need to do is click on “File”, then
“Properties”. It will ask for your web site address, username and password.
If
you are NOT using FrontPage, you MUST upload your site by an FTP program.
We recommend a program called WSFTP. You can download this by going to
Once
this program is installed, it will ask for a host name, a username and a
password.
On
the left side of the computer screen is your hard disk and on the right side is
your server. This is where you want to upload your site.
Once you have logged into the FTP program, you will be logged into your home directory on the server. In your own directory, you will find the directory for each of your domains. Double click on one of them.
In the domain directory, there will be 3 more directories:
1.
DB
– (database) - Put all your database files here. (If you have a database web
site.
2.
WWW
- (world wide web) – Put all your web site files here. Your main page should be
named index.htm or
index.asp
3.
Logs – This is where you will find your access logs.
